The opening of Intimate Apparel kicks off at 8 p.m. on Friday, January 30 at the Pearl Theater. The play which runs through February 1 is set in 1905 Harlem and concerns young Esther, an African-American woman, who travels to New York to pursue her dreams of becoming an independent woman as a seamstress.  A bittersweet love story unfolds for Esther as letters from a secret admirer arrive.

Pearland WinterFest blasts into town on Saturday, January 31 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Pearland Recreation Center & Natatorium, 4141 Bailey Rd.   The annual outdoor festival features snow tubing, carnival attractions, food vendors, live entertainment, and all kinds of wintery fun!

Pearland Arts League kicks off the Artist in Business Series for February.  Beginning Sunday, February 1, Associated Credit Union (ACU) of Texas at 6306 Broadway St. in Pearland will sponsor the creations of artist and exemplary teacher, Ms. Joan Moody.  Ms. Moody has been instrumental in teaching hundreds of students throughout the Pearland and Friendswood area.  Her fresh, whimsical approach to her work can be viewed throughout the month of February at the ACU Broadway St. location.
