Country music star, Sheila Marshall brings her rootsy, Texas-tinged country rock to Concerts in the Park at Southdown Park on Friday, June 5 from 7 to 9 p.m. The Texan native appeared on TV’s Nashville Star talent show earning a top 10 finalist position. Free admission, bring lawn chairs, picnic baskets and enjoy the music!

2. Free Press Summer Fest, one of Houston’s largest music festivals, moves to NRG Park this year. The two-day festival takes place on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and features six stages with nearly 80 acts including Skrillex, R. Kelly, Weezer, St. Vincent, Tove Lo, Tears for Fears, Riverboat Gamblers. Tickets: $ 168.50+

3. Texas Folklife celebrates 30 years of promoting Texas music and culture with the Accordian Kings and Queens concert at Miller Outdoor Theatre on Saturday, June 6 at 7 p.m. Performances by Debra Peters & the Love Saints, Jerome Batiste and the ZydeKo Players and Los Texmaniacs will perform with special guests including Grammy award winner Flaco Jimenez. Free admission.
