houston zooSpring is officially here, which means we’re getting closer and closer to plenty of family fun in the sun and finding every excuse to stop and smell the roses. From a socially distanced night out at the movies and speeding around the roller rink in Pearland, to the exciting adventures that await in the Houston area and beyond, we’re diving into the top family fun activities that everyone from 3 – 93 will enjoy.

Jumping into our first activity, Urban Air Adventure Park has everything you could imagine for the ultimate day of kid-friendly adventure. We’re talking go-karts, climbing walls, an indoor ropes course, and floor-to-wall trampoline. Keep the action going at Pearwood Skate Center! Roll your own way with public skating sessions every Saturday and Sunday, and Glow Skate every Friday night.

Whether you’re a speed demon or just plain competitive, Motor Speedway Resort of Houston is for you. MSR is located just 30 minutes south of Pearland and is the premier road course and karting facility in the Lone Star State with state-of-the-art go-karts that top out at 50 MPH and a nearly 1-mile track to pick up speed. The only requirement is that you’re 9 years or older and ready to have plenty of fun.

After a full day of racing, jumping, and skating, put your feet up and enjoy the magic of the big screen. Catch the newest films, reminisce over classic flicks, or rent out a private theatre to make your family feel like royals at any of Pearland’s three movie theatres: Premier Cinema 6, Cinemark at Pearland, and Studio Movie Grill.

If you’re looking for some outdoor family fun, look no further than the Houston Zoo. Located just minutes from Pearland, the 55-acre zoo is home to over 6,000 animals and 900 species, and it’s the second most visited zoo in America. Enjoy socially distanced animal encounters like the Cheetah Walk, Goat Experience, or Sea Lion Painting Exercise, while you explore the 16 different engaging exhibits across the zoo. Online reservations are required, so be sure to plan your visit and book tickets here.

If science was your favorite subject in school or you always dreamed of becoming an astronaut, shoot for the stars at Space Center Houston. There’s plenty of space to explore the great beyond with new exhibits and outdoor experiences (like a flown SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket—one of only two on display). Learn more about life on Mars or get a NASA Tram Tour to Johnson Space Center and go behind the scenes of astronaut training facilities, Mission Control, and more, all within a convenient drive from Pearland.

However you celebrate the arrival of spring, Pearland is a can’t-miss destination for family fun of all sorts. So don’t wait around for the flowers to bloom, because we’re ready to race, jump, skate, relax, learn, and blast off.
