The Drink Station in Pearland celebrates their new art mural installation with a day of fun for the whole family on Saturday, July 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the 8209 Broadway Street location.
The free, family-friendly event will include vendors, door prizes every hour, face painting, games, a live DJ & dancing, a chalk art contest, community performances and more.
The festivities will coincide with The Drink Station’s ribbon cutting ceremony by the Pearland Chamber of Commerce. In addition, proceeds from the day’s event will be split between YellowUp!, a children’s cancer support nonprofit and the Foundation for Creative Leadership, a 501(c)(3) organization is to develop leadership skills in children and adults
At the center of the celebration is a 25’x 11’, vibrant art mural created by Art & Kustom Kreations commissioned by Pearland resident and Drink Station owner Adrian Hernandez. Local artist Chris Garcia of Art & Kustom Kreations designed the mural. “I envisioned a piece with a large variety of colors yet a style of simplicity. Adrian told me there was a blank canvas on his wall and he wanted a design,” says Garcia. “I created a design for him and am simply inspired and honored to create artwork for Pearland,” added Garcia.
“I wanted to do this event to help promote the arts in Pearland as well as gain some exposure for these nonprofit groups. There’s an explosion of art happening in Pearland and I wanted to open up The Drink Station to be an outlet for this creative expression in the community,” says Hernandez.
The Drink Station is a local favorite spot featuring loose leaf tea, boba tea, locally roasted coffee and fresh fruit smoothies. Most recently the Pearland location was recognized by Houstonia Magazine on its Top 10 Favorite Suburban Coffee Shops.
