The Pearland Livestock Show and Career Expo is now underway and will feature a wide variety of activities that will continue until Saturday, September 19 at the Richard L. Wagoner Agricultural Facility located at 4715 Bailey Road (at the corner of Veterans and Bailey Road).
The Pearland FFA Booster Club will host the concession stand that will feature a wide variety of items including signature food items from Floyd’s Cajun and Texas Steakhouse on Friday night.
New this year to the event is the Pearland FFA Booster Club Silent Auction that will take place on Friday beginning at 5 p.m. Auction items include two tickets from the 40+ Kids Cookoff Team to the Barbecue Cookoff at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo; gift baskets from Tease Me hair salon, Cavender’s and Chick Fil A, sports memorabilia from the Houston Texans, Texas A&M and the University of Texas, and a flight simulator session at Flight Safety International, the world’s premier professional aviation training company and supplier of flight simulators, visual systems and displays to commercial, government and military organizations. This auction item is one of a kind and offers an experience that is not available to the general public.
The person with the winning bid and a guest will gain access to a flight simulator used by companies throughout the world to train pilots. The simulator experience will offer an opportunity to taxi the aircraft to the runway, take off and fly above some of the world’s best known cities and airports.
All proceeds from the silent auction will go directly to the Pearland FFA Booster Club, a 501(C)3 non-profit organization whose purpose is to award scholarships and assist the Ag program and FFA students.
On Saturday, September 19, the live auction for livestock, culinary and art winners will begin a 6:30.
Admission is free to this event which is open to the public. For more information, visit Pearlandisd.org.
