The Pearland CVB hosted a Fam Tour at Reflection Bay Event Center for Tourism ProfessionalsThe Pearland Convention & Visitors Bureau recently hosted its first familiarization tour for group tour operators and travel planners.  The two-day itinerary was designed to familiarize regional, tourism professionals with everything a stay in Pearland has to offer.

The first day of the tour included stops at the Pearland Town Center, Hilton Garden Inn, Houston Space Center, a drive along Broadway Street highlighting area hotels, recreational activities, restaurants and venues before a stop at King’s Biergarten.  A welcome reception followed at the Reflection Bay Event Center.  An intimate gathering of Pearland officials, Pearland hoteliers, business partners, community leaders, and members of the Pearland Arts League joined the welcoming reception.

Guests enjoyed dinner prepared by Pearland’s locally owned Mex-Sea-Co along with wine tastings by Dionisio Winery.  Dionisio Winery, owned by Pearland resident Jimmy Aranda, unveiled a new, pear flavored wine during the reception.

Day two of the tour included a visit at the Sri Meenakshi Temple in Pearland, a tour of Minute Maid Park, lunch at IslaMorada inside Bass Pro Shops and concluded with a behind the scenes look at the 1940 Air Terminal Museum located adjacent to Hobby Airport.

“We’re very thrilled at the opportunity to showcase Pearland as a destination to hub and spoke with easy access to nearby attractions,” according to Kim Sinistore, Executive Director Pearland Convention & Visitors Bureau.  “We invited a select group of tourism professionals from around the country to experience Pearland so they can share what they’ve learned and entice their groups to visit and stay in Pearland” added Sinistore.

Several area partners recognized the significance of the planned two-day itinerary for these industry professionals and quickly agreed to participate.  The familiarization tour is an integral part of the tourism effort for the Pearland Convention & Visitors Bureau and aligns with its mission to promote Pearland as a destination within the Gulf Coast Region of Texas.
