The Pearland Convention and Visitors Bureau announces its accepting applications through November 30 for the FY 2015 Pearland Cultural Arts Grant Program.  The Pearland Cultural Arts Grant Program provides funding from the hotel occupancy tax for projects that support cultural arts and fine arts in Pearland.

The Pearland Convention and Visitors Bureau, since its inception as a Pearland city department in 2013, has managed the Cultural Arts Grant Program.

“The Pearland Cultural Arts Grant Program is integral in supporting arts within the community.  The arts play a large role in our mission to position Pearland as a tourism destination on the Gulf Coast,” according to Kim Sinistore, Executive Director of the Pearland Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Under Sinistore’s direction, the Pearland Cultural Arts Grant Program was revamped to a process with a 60-day application period ending November 30 of the fiscal year.  Applications are reviewed beginning December 1 and awarded during the month of January.

Funding is limited to $15,000 annually with the maximum grant application awarded at $5,000 based on merit.  Non-profit organizations located within the city limits of Pearland are encouraged to apply.   Applicants must meet eligibility criteria to be considered in the application process.
