The Pearland Art & Crafts on the Pavilion, presented by the Pearland Convention and Visitors Bureau, takes place Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Pearland Town Center, 11200 Broadway Street. Visitors can shop for unique art, handcrafted goods, and artisan created pieces designed by local & Houston area artists.
“We’re very proud to add culinary art this year in the form of ‘Food as Art’ on Saturday and a ‘Food Truck Court’ on Sunday,” according to Kim Sinistore, Executive Director of the Pearland Convention & Visitors Bureau. “This free, two-day event is a perfect reason for a weekend stay in Pearland with special rates offered by area hotels,” added Sinistore.
Sponsored by Kroger, “Food As Art” debuts on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. featuring Spanish pintxos tapas delicately created by Dawson High School culinary students and tastings offered by La Madeleine for purchase. Proceeds will benefit Dawson High School Culinary Scholarships.
The “Food Truck Court” arrives on Sunday from 11 to 5 p.m. offering tasty menu items by D’Lish Curbside Bistro creators of TEX-ified Southern Comfort & Gulf Coast Inspired Poutine Style Fries & Gourmet Burgers, and noted Nom Mi Street offering Asian fusion and Vietnamese menu items. Pearland’s Chilly Willy delicious frozen shaved ice truck will also be on-site.
Live music rounds out the event with sounds from Courageous Band on Saturday and Pearland’s own Modulation Band on Sunday. Kids can create their own keepsake art pieces at the Interactive Station sponsored by Keep Pearland Beautiful.
A special exhibit by the Pearland Arts League will be on display at the Visitor Center in addition to offerings available for purchase during the event.
