The Pearland Convention and Visitors Bureau cancels this year’s Pearland Art & Crafts on the Pavilion event due to the Covid-19 situation. “The Pearland Art & Crafts on the Pavilion 2020 edition is canceled for a variety of reasons but most importantly to ensure the health and safety of our artists and our patrons,” said Tracy Rohrbacher, the Interim Director for the Pearland Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The art show launched in 2014 as an endeavor by the Pearland Convention and Visitors Bureau to attract visitors to the City. Held the first weekend in October, the annual event grew to include a number of local and regional artists selling handcrafted pieces in a celebration of art. Live music, food trucks, hands-on paint instruction plus several other community components were part of the festivities. Planning for this year’s show was significantly impacted by the evolving Covid-19 situation.
The cancellation gives organizers an opportunity to re-imagine the event for 2021 whether it becomes a Spring market, Holiday market or another iteration remains to be seen. Stay tuned to the VisitPearland website for details.
