The Pearland Theater Guild will open The Phantom Tollbooth on March 27 and run for 2 weekends, and will have 1 weekend of Disney’s Cinderella Kids opening April 10.

For over 50 years Milo’s adventures in The Phantom Tollbooth have been entertaining kids of all ages. In this stage adaptation Milo is forced to think about many new things.

Milo learns of the argument between King Azaz and his brother, the Mathemagician whose disagreement over words and numbers has led to the banishment of Princesses Sweet Rhyme and Pure Reason. Milo is dispatched to rescue the Princesses from the Land of Ignorance. The knowledge and skills Milo picks up on his journey help him to save the Princesses. When he must return home, Milo’s sorry to leave his friends– but enriched by his experience, he realizes his attitude towards learning will never be the same.

The Pearland Theatre Guild’s Production of Disney’s Cinderella Kids is an adaptation of the treasured animated film geared toward young performers. Poor Cinderella is endlessly mistreated by her wicked stepmother and stepsisters and denied a chance to go to the royal ball. With a little help from her mice friends, and a lot of help from her Fairy Godmother, Cinderella’s dreams come true. She goes to the ball, meets the Prince, and falls in love!
