Visit Pearland Celebrates National Travel and Tourism Week 2025

National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW) is an annual tradition that highlights travel’s essential role in driving economic growth, creating jobs and enhancing quality of life across the United States.

“Travel is one of our nation’s most powerful economic engines—supporting millions of jobs, fueling businesses and propelling industries forward,” said U.S. Travel Association President and CEO Geoff Freeman. “National Travel and Tourism Week reinforces the pivotal role travel plays in building a stronger, more prosperous America.”

NTTW shines a spotlight on the U.S. travel industry’s essential role in driving economic growth, creating jobs and enhancing the nation’s global competitiveness. In 2024, the travel industry generated $2.9 trillion in economic output, supported more than 15 million jobs and produced $190 billion in tax revenue—equivalent to $1,490 per household.

In 2024 visitor spending contributed $163 million to the Pearland community, according to Travel Texas research, supporting local businesses and fostering long-term growth. Pearland also experienced a record year for hotel tax revenue in 2024, surpassing previous years with a record breaking $1.9 million.

“Travel stimulates economic development and ultimately strengthens our community,” said Tracy Rohrbacher, Executive Director of Visit Pearland. “Plus, tourism is a catalyst for connection; literally bringing people together. When travel thrives, communities thrive.”

Visit Pearland’s mission is to promote and coordinate tourist related activity in Pearland, from family reunions and sports tournaments to road trip getaways and outdoor adventures. “Pearland offers opportunities for visitors of all types; business, cultural, heritage, leisure, and more,” Rohrbacher continued. “Our team works hard to support the city, and that’s something we celebrate during National Travel and Tourism Week.”
