Premiere LUX Recliner Cinema reopens in Pearland on August 28. The theatre, located at 5050 Broadway Street, will be showing the first brand new movies released to theatres by Hollywood studios again since theatres closed back in March.

Premiere is a local favorite for movie-goers, but the experience was greatly-enhanced late last year when the facility was thoroughly upgraded to luxurious powered recliner seats in every auditorium. “Oh my gosh, attendance went through the roof after we installed recliners,” said facility Director Maria Barrales. “The reaction from our customers was amazing, everyone came in and got to spread out and loved the recliners.”

Hollywood officially resumed releasing new movies to cinemas this week for the first time since March. Premiere will be showing “Unhinged”, along with “The New Mutants”, “Bill & Ted Face the Music”, with upcoming blockbusters including “Tenet”, “Wonder Woman 84”, “Black Widow”, “No Time To Die” and others.

Premiere has been working behind the scenes putting enhanced standards of sanitization and health-conscious procedures in place for its auditoriums, common areas and contact surfaces, according to Maria. Social distancing and capacity restrictions are in place and employees are temperature-screened before shifts. Hand sanitizers have been installed and more time has been left between shows for cleaning and preparation.

Face coverings are required for staff and guests but guests can remove them when eating and drinking. And the concession stand is open serving all the favorites. “We are ready to see all our customers again,” said Maria. “And everyone’s been so pent-up they’re telling us they’re ready to get back out and start doing all the normal fun things again so we’re looking forward to welcoming them back safely and responsibly and making sure everyone has a great movie-going experience.”
