Tap into the rhythm of Pearland’s music scene with the city’s inaugural Pearland Music Week running Saturday, June 21 through the 28.
Coinciding with Make Music Day, internationally presented by the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation on June 21, and the King Music Fest Elvis tribute series presented by Vince King, June 26 through 29 at the Pearland Hilton Garden Inn, Visit Pearland will highlight musical happenings across the city in celebration of the community’s cultural climate.
The debut of Pearland Music Week accompanies the kick-off to Visit Pearland’s pursuit of the Texas Music Office’s Music Friendly certification. The path to accreditation for Pearland starts with a Texas Music Friendly Workshop hosted by the Texas Music Office on Tuesday, June 24, from 6 to 7 p.m. The event will take place at the West Pearland Branch Library located at 11801 Shadow Creek Pkwy.
Pearland restaurants and event venues welcome local and regional musicians to their stages weekly, while large-scale events celebrate live music in Pearland through every season of the year. From tiki-bar vibes at Good Vibes Coastal Kitchen to acoustic sets at Hometown Seafood Company, Pearland celebrates live music of every taste and talent. Open mic and karaoke have struck a chord in the city well, with numerous locations hosting frequent events including Saloon Door West, LIT Java Coffee and Books, and Hometown Sports Bar and Grill.
Holidays at Vallensons’ Brewing Company are always a party with local musicians on site and Rob Ray’s Taproom has curated a vast following with their Tejano Nights and Singo Bingo events.
“The Visit Pearland team is excited to add another nod to the city’s name,” said Tracy Rohrbacher, Executive Director. “And initiating the Music Friendly certification process with Pearland’s first Music Week is a great opportunity for visitors and residents alike to experience what Pearland has to offer.”
Visit Pearland facilitated the City of Pearland’s Film Friendly certification in 2019 and Tourism Friendly designation in 2024, strengthening Pearland’s visibility as destination for filmmakers and visitors respectively through the state-managed programs.
