Independent craft breweries paired with live music on May 18

The inaugural Music to My Beers event celebrating independent craft breweries south of Houston takes place in Pearland on Saturday, May 18 from 2 to 9 p.m. Live music and food trucks are part of the activities planned for the outdoor fest at the Pearland Town Center, 11200 Broadway Street. Admission is free, $5 beer tickets.

Music to My Beers“I’m excited about highlighting independent craft breweries in this corridor of the Houston area at one location in Pearland. Craft breweries are such a tight community, it made sense to support each other and highlight what we each offer,” said Kris Szecsy, owner of Pearland’s BAKFISH Brewing Company.

Participating craft breweries to date include: BAKFISH Brewing Company and Vallensons’ Brewing Company of Pearland. Brigadoon Brewery, Devil and the Deep Brewery, DUO Winery & Cider Co. and Texas Beer Refinery. More announcements will follow with additional breweries joining the event.

“We’re proud to partner with BAKFISH Brewing Company and Pearland House Concerts to offer this inaugural event in Pearland. We’ll have an opportunity to showcase Pearland as a music, culinary and spirits destination at the popular Town Center location,” according to Kim Sinistore, executive director of the Pearland Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Music line-up

The footprint for the first-ever event includes a day of live music from a variety of genres curated by Pearland House Concerts. The opening act, Buck Yeager, is a Houston favorite performing classic covers and original music kicking off at 2:30 p.m.

After that, Americana duo Byrd Law will hit the stage at 3:30 p.m. followed by the howling blues duo Beat Root Revival at 5 p.m. Closing out the night, Hector Ward & the Big Time from Austin, Texas with an 8-piece Latin grooves orchestra sound offers a blues and rock and roll vibe.

Additionally, Pearland’s Nacho Nacho food truck along with Foreign Policy will be on-site providing delicious menu items. Music to My Beers will be located in the parking area near Dillard’s at the Town Center.
