You might have noticed some new colorful art unfolding on Magnolia Parkway. The installation of six works of art onto traffic signal cabinets has begun and will continue through the end of August.
The Pearland Mini Masterpieces Traffic Signal Cabinet Program features original works of art created by talented local and regional artists. The Mini Masterpieces will be located at various points on a 3.5-mile stretch along Magnolia Parkway, between Cullen Parkway and Veterans Drive.
The Mini Masterpieces Public Art Program is part of the Cultural Arts Master Plan, a blueprint designed to guide the creative life of the Pearland community. Seeking to broaden the type of public art available to the community, Visit Pearland launched a successful initiative in 2021installing artist-designed mini murals on utility boxes in the Pearland Parkway corridor.
Keep your eyes open while you’re traveling along Magnolia Parkway, you might just discover your new favorite piece of public art!
Visit Pearland invites artists to apply for inclusion in the new Visit Pearland Artist Roster, a pre-qualified directory of artists considered for public art projects including murals.
