Sisters Jeanette Floyd and Vanessa Thornton set out to create their own handcrafted designs inspired by finds picked up during shopping trips to Canton Texas. Soon after Sass of Ash Designs was born featuring a full line of hand-painted crosses and signs made of reclaimed wood. The stay-at-home mom duo turned their love of Canton from a hobby to a full-fledged business flooded with requests for custom orders. Pearland resident, Jeanette Floyd says most of their orders come from the pop-up shop at Floyd’s Cajun Seafood Restaurant in Pearland owned by her husband Bret Floyd. The sisters also take part in a few, select art shows throughout the year in the Pearland and Friendswood area but most days their work can be found in the main lobby area of Floyds in Pearland.
