It’s an exciting time for arts and culture in Pearland! Nine inspiring organizations have been selected as recipients of Visit Pearland’s 2027 Cultural Arts Matching Grant.
The city of Pearland’s Cultural Arts Matching Grant is funded through the hotel motel occupancy tax and requires each recipient to participate in marketing, promotion, and activities that attract visitors to Pearland during the city’s 2027 fiscal year, from October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027. Visit Pearland has managed the Cultural Arts Grant program since 2013 and has since supported a variety of events like Puranava, the PLTX Film Festival, Lunar New Year, and much more.
The 2027 program awarded a total of $36,750 distributed across each nonprofit based on their specific needs. Grantees for this year include the Global Organization for Divinity, Keep Pearland Beautiful, the Lit Java Read Lead Succeed Foundation, Mantra Pearland, the Pearland Arts Community Association, the Pearland Chinese Association, Pearland Community Band, the Pearland Musician Foundation, and the Spandan Foundation.
“Behind these great arts and cultural organizations are passionate people who bring innovative and community-centered creative ideas to life”, said Carolyn Figueroa, Visit Pearland Arts Administrator. “Each contributes to Pearland’s cultural identity in their own unique way, and I look forward to experiencing what they create for the community.”
Pearland is looking forward to a bustling arts and culture scene in the coming months, with engaging events and programs from the selected grantees as well as the continuation of Visit Pearland projects the Mini Masterpieces Traffic Signal Cabinet Program and the addition of sponsored sculptures to the popular PearScape Trail.
“We are thrilled to support vibrant arts and culture offerings through the matching grant program,” said Tracy Rohrbacher, Executive Director of Visit Pearland. “This legacy program provides us with another platform to showcase Pearland’s creativity for visitors and residents alike to experience.”
