Pearland-iFest-Logo-sm1The Pearland International Festival, an annual celebration of the cultural expansion and impression in Pearland, has announced the program and line-up changes for the 4th annual festival. The new line-up for the festival will include an intimate adult-only Friday evening concert followed by a full day of family activities and entertainment on Saturday. The dates have been confirmed as September 16-17, 2016 where the two-day bash will be held at The Pearland Town Center. The Festival has grown tremendously since its institution in 2012, more than 16,000 visitors were noted to have enjoyed the festival last year and expects more than 18,000 this year.

“With the growth of the festival and the excitement we have been able to generate regarding our community’s diversity, the Foundation felt that we needed to expand this year’s festival,” said Joshua Hari, co-founder of the Pearland Foundation for the Performing and Visual Arts. “The two-day event will provide us with a number of amazing food vendors, cultural performances, and highlight Pearland’s cultural mix.”

Friday’s festival line-up and kickoff party is a dedicated oldies theme. Festival goers can look forward to memory lane with featured hits from the 70s all the way through the 90s, including an exclusive performance by 80s cover-band sensation, The Molly Ringwalds. Food trucks and various beverage stations, including beer, wine, sodas, and water, will be on hand. The $25 admission for Friday also allows entry for Saturday’s event. However, Friday night will be limited to attendees who are 18 or older.

In addition, live music and dance performances, international food, and family-fun activities with occur throughout Saturday’s Festival. To cap off the event, Caribbean Achievement Award-winners, the Galaxy Band, will return for their third year with a special performance. Tickets for Saturday’s event are $15 for adults and $5 for children under 12 years of age.

“We really appreciate the generous support of our community partners, including H-E-B,” said Mark Smith, this year’s chairman of the Pearland Foundation for the Performing and Visual Arts. “It’s because of their support that we can offer many of the Kids Zone activities for free. Cultural is about family and community, so we really want our families to come out and have a great time.”

In addition to H-E-B’s sponsorship, the festival is supported by a City of Pearland Cultural Arts Grant program from the City of Pearland Convention & Visitors Bureau. The Pearland Convention & Visitors Bureau has A Perfect Pick to… Getaway! Promotion which includes discounted hotel rates and other promotions throughout the year for a getaway in Pearland. For exclusive International Festival rates, attendees can log on to www.pearlandifest.org and select Special Events in Pearland.
