Dawson High School presents the master of suspense’s acclaimed “The 39 Steps” this month. The Alfred Hitchcock thriller takes the stage Oct. 18, 19, 21 and 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the Dawson High School auditorium, 2050 Cullen Boulevard.
Based on Hitchcock’s movie adapted for stage by Patrick Barlow, “The 39 Steps” mixes all the elements of a spy novel with fast-paced comedy.
Innocent London bystander Richard Hannay is thrown into a world of intrigue and danger when a woman reveals to him a plot to steal British military secrets, then is suddenly murdered — and he is the prime suspect.
Hannay flees to the Scotland highlands to escape the police and uncover the espionage organization, mysteriously dubbed “The 39 Steps,” in time to save the British Empire.
A cast of four plays more than 150 characters in this action-packed play that includes mistaken identities and nods to several other Hitchcock masterpieces.
Tickets are $7 for reserved and $8 at the door. To reserve tickets, visit www.ticketracker.com or email [email protected].
