CULTURAL ARTS MATCHING GRANT GUIDELINES

Visit Pearland manages a grant to provide funding from the hotel & motel tax fund for projects that support Cultural Arts/Fine Arts in Pearland.

Guidelines include the following:

Terms

Applications will be accepted through October 20, 2025. Applications will be reviewed and awarded by December 5, 2025. (Grant applications will not be accepted after October 20, 2025.)
 
A past grant recipient must have submitted a “FINAL REPORT” on or before September 30, 2025 to be eligible for the following year’s grant program. (A separate final report will need to be submitted for each individual event, if there was a joint grant project.)
 
Funding for the Cultural Arts/Fine Arts Grant Program is limited up to $40,000 for FY2026. The maximum
grant application awarded will be $6,000, based on merit. Applicant agrees to provide Visit Pearland with
documentation that the performance standards have been met as required in the application. All
monies not spent, within FY2026, by September 30, 2026 will need to be refunded to the City of Pearland.

Eligibility

Cultural Arts Grants are open to non-profit organizations located within the corporate city limits of Pearland. To qualify, projects must meet all of the following criteria:
  • Applicant must be a non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status
  • Applicant must be the president or official signatory of the organization
  • Organization must be based in the City of Pearland
  • Project must focus on the development and public awareness of Cultural Arts/Fine Arts
  • Only one application per organization per year will be considered
  • Applicants must clearly demonstrate how their event or project will attract visitors to Pearland, generate overnight stays, and contribute to the growth of the local tourism and hospitality industry. Priority will be given to proposals that create a measurable economic impact by encouraging regional, statewide, or out-of-town attendance, and by showcasing Pearland as a vibrant cultural destination.
  • Political organizations and individuals are not eligible.

Evaluation Criteria

Applications will be reviewed on a competitive basis and evaluated using the following criteria (along with additional considerations listed in the application):
  • Project features innovative Cultural Arts programming that provides publicly accessible arts events and activities in Pearland.
  • Focus on the development of Cultural Arts in Pearland
  • Demonstrates public outreach and awareness
  • Includes a minimum 50% funding match
  • Shows measurable impact on local tourism and hotel/motel activity
  • Demonstrates compliance with prior grant requirement
