Pearland’s BAKFISH Brewing Company expands its popular Beerster – Adult Easter Egg Hunt to two days this year on Saturday, March 31 and Sunday, April 1 at the 1231 Broadway Street location. Participants, 21 years and older can register in person at noon each day for the hunts which start at 3 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday, $5 per person.
Designed last year as a last minute idea, owners Kris and Darcy Szecsy received an overwhelming response. “We were amazed by the support of our regular customers last year at Beerster. It was so much fun, we decided to bring it back and make it even bigger this year,” according to Darcy.
Format
Over 500 eggs scatter behind the brewery in the grassy area each filled with prizes ranging from items redeemable for gift cards by local businesses to bigger prizes. The format is simple, adults 21 years and older register in the taproom at noon and pay $5 per person. Each person brings their own basket and provides a valid ID to secure a wrist band for participation.
Several activities will take place between 3 and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 31 before live music by the New Offenders kicks off at 7 p.m. Popular food truck Watsons BBQ will be on-site all day.
Regular business hours are in place for Sunday, April 1 with the noon registration and a 2 p.m. hunt scheduled. Space City Spudz will be available all day.
Backstory
BAKFISH Brewing Company, Pearland’s first microbrewery, is known for 5 core beers including a blonde, wit, brown porter, single IPA and double IPA plus seasonals. The microbrewery is family-friendly and pet-friendly with creative programming scheduled weekly. Easter weekend features the release of a new Daisy Chain beer called the Polarizer which is an IPA made with Nelson Sauvin, Mosaic and Lemondrop hops. The Daisy Chain beer is a Houston collaboration started by Southern Star in Conroe and includes 23 Houston area breweries in a yeast sharing program. The BAKFISH Brewing yeast for Polarizer went through Southern Star, Eureka Heights and Running Walker before the Pearland brewery received it.
