The Pearl Theater is pleased to present its spring youth musical, Annie, Jr, running weekends April 1 through 10, 2022. Annie charms everyone’s hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. With equal measures of pluck and positivity, she is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Through a series of adventures, Annie eventually finds a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks and his lovable mutt named Sandy.

One of the things that drew Tabetha Harrison, director, to the show was that “kids are at the center of this story” and that it’s always been a personal favorite of hers. She expressed she’d always wanted to be in the show. “One of my favorite aspects of working on the show has been teaching the young actors about the 30s and how the events of that time period should affect their performances,” she continues.

While Tabetha is directing and teaching the next generation of actors, she is working alongside her mother, Leona Harrison, who serves as the production’s Stage Manager. Leona is also Director of Education for the Pearl Theater and has been working with the theatre for several years. This is not the first show the two have worked on together and Leona expressed great pride and enthusiasm getting to watch her daughter grow in the performing arts.

Musical Direction for Annie, Jr is provided by Derrick Gibbs and Bentley Hart-Abel.

Annie, Jr runs April 1 through 10, 2022. Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm; Saturdays and Sundays at 3:00pm at the Pearl Theater located at 14803 Park Almeda Dr. Houston, TX 77047.
