Education

Two major school districts serve the majority of the Pearland community; the Pearland Independent School District and the Alvin Independent School District. Pearland ISD has 23 campuses, 1,339 teachers, and an enrollment of over 21,200 students. Alvin ISD has 30 campuses, 3,600 educators and staff, and an enrollment of nearly 29,000 students. 

Nearly 350,000 students are enrolled in more than 60 degree-granting colleges, universities, and technical schools in the Houston region. Pearland is served by the University of Houston Clear Lake Pearland campus, as well as Alvin, Houston, and San Jacinto community colleges. 

POPULATION

In 2022, Filterbuy ranked Pearland as the most diverse small city in the U.S. and the second most diverse overall, based on data from the U.S. Cencus 2020 American Community Survey. In 2020, SmartAsset ranked Pearland as one of the top 50 most livable mid-sized cities in the U.S.
