The Pearland Convention and Visitors Bureau (PCVB) is proud to award a total of $36k in cultural art grant funds to six deserving Pearland arts organizations.
The city of Pearland’s Cultural Arts Grant is funded through the hotel motel occupancy tax and requires each recipient to participate in marketing, promotion, and activities that increase tourism to Pearland during the city’s 2024 fiscal year.
The Pearland Convention and Visitors Bureau has managed the Cultural Arts Grant Program since 2013. Past projects of the grant program include the Puranava Indian Culture Festival, Pearl Theater productions, Pearland Lunar New Year, and Fusion of the Arts.
Beneficiaries this year include Bharathi Kalai Manram, the Global Organization for Divinity, the Pearland Chinese Association, the Pearland Community Band, the Pearland Theatre Guild, and Silambam Houston.
“We’re always pleased to award these grants in support of the arts in Pearland, but we’re particularly excited about the blend of returning and new recipients this year,” said Tracy Rohrbacher, executive director of the Pearland Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Pearland is going to see a surge of arts and culture opportunities in 2024, and this is just one outlet for us to show our support.”
The PCVB is currently in the second phase of developing the Pearland’s first ever Cultural Arts Master Plan; a blueprint designed to guide the creative life of the Pearland community.
