Pearland Host City for Winter Games Sanctioned by the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation
Registration is underway for the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF) Winter Games of Texas arriving in Pearland January 18-20, 2019. Sanctioned by TAAF, the 3-day event is a sports festival created for Texas amateur athletes of all ages and skill levels patterned after the Olympic Games. Amateur athletes are invited to register for their sport of choice with 14 different competitions ranging from archery to swimming.
Registration remains active for the TAAF Winter Games of Texas online at www.TAAF.com/wintergames. Events will play out at various venues throughout Pearland thanks to a joint partnership with the Pearland Independent School District.
Adults and youth can compete in a variety of events including: archery, adaptive archery, adult and youth basketball, adult and youth football, adult and youth golf, gymnastics, adult kickball, lacrosse, martial arts, pickleball, powerlifting, soccer, softball plus adult and youth swimming.
Qualify for State Games of America
The Pearland event is the final opportunity to qualify for the 2019 State Games of America held in Lynchburg, Virginia summer of 2019. Eligible medal winners from the Pearland event can compete on a national platform.
