The 2014 Adidas Texas Volleyball Invitational in Pearland serves as host to 87 teams from the State of Texas competing for the championship at various Pearland ISD campuses on Thursday, August 14 through Saturday, August 16, 2014.    The annual event has grown significantly since its inception 17 years ago by Pearland volleyball coach John Turner and is now regarded as the largest in the nation.

Every year, the tournament has donated some of the money raised to one or two charities.  This year the tournament will raise funds for the Justin J. Watt Foundation.  Established by NFL Houston Texans player and Pearland resident, J.J. Watt, the foundation’s mission is to provide after-school opportunities for children in the community to become involved in athletics.

The Watt family will be represented by J.J. Watt’s mother, Connie, at the opening ceremonies to be held on Thursday, August 14.  In addition, plenty of signed items by J.J. Watt will be available in a silent auction.

Pearland is host to several sporting events throughout the year with a top-notch selection of sports facilities and campuses located throughout the city.  The 2014 Adidas Texas Volleyball Invitational is one of the more prestigious events hosted in Pearland annually.
