An interactive art mural, a water feature and new landscaping are part of the transformation of an outdoor area being celebrated on Saturday, June 24 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Counseling Connections for Change, Inc., 2549 Roy Road in Pearland.

The Community Collaborative Mural Project spearheaded by Foundation for Creative Leadership, includes the collaboration of five, local Pearland 501(c)3 non-profits coming together including Counseling Connections for Change, Inc., Keep Pearland Beautiful, Pearland Alliance for Art & Culture and Pearland Arts League to create a safe inviting outdoor space.

Owner of Art & Kustom Kreations and founder of 501(c)3 Foundation for Creative Leadership, Kelly Kronfeld says “My vision was to create a draw for people in the Pearland community and the surrounding area who wanted to participate in a unique service project that would not only benefit the immediate community, but also extend our reach by helping an organization that services the entire Brazoria County area.”

The initial idea of incorporating an art mural into a dilapidated outdoor area quickly grew into a bigger project with a core group of fifteen volunteers working together to transform the space into an inviting area to be used for therapy sessions, as an additional workspace, and future community events.

“Through arts integration and beautification of this space, we were able to do something a little bit out of the ordinary and afforded a one-of-a-kind experience for people to get involved,” added Kronfeld.

Several community partners stepped in to provide services and materials including All Things Commercial owned by Angelo Giokas a local Pearland business owner in addition to many local companies.

The Saturday celebration includes a full day of activities and an opportunity for volunteers to help with the transformation prior to the reveal event starting at 4 p.m.  Families are invited and encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to enjoy the live entertainment and festivities. The first 250 to arrive will receive a swag bag full of goodies.  Free parking.
